My, you're a prolific poster today! Anyway, I think if you leave the genre-sorting up to the kids, they will come up with pretty creative ways to sort the books, ways that we might not think of, so why not give them total freedom of classification, then ask them to explain their choices/decisions? (I think my kids came up with stuff like "boy books", "basketball", "make believe", and some others.)
