Because I teach Ramp-Up, I also take my 9th graders to an elementary school in our neighborhood. They love it and I'm always amazed at what happens to my ruliest kids when I put them in a position of authority.

That sounds like such an amazing project. I think sometimes people sell teens short in terms of their desire to do good things in the world. Our students, for instance, really enjoy community service activities and actively seek them on their own in addition to those we provide.
